Topic of your Task: Clouds!!

Classify clouds according to their three basic types (cumulus, cirrus, and stratus) and summarize how clouds form.
CCR Standards: Reading Anchor Standards 1 & 9, Writing Anchor Standards 1, 4, 6 & 8
Your task: You are a drop of water swimming on top of the ocean. Write a postcard to a friend or family member telling them about your "trip" up through the sky to visit a cloud, and back down again. To do this you will need understand the water cycle as well as be able to describe the type of cloud you visit.
Steps you will be following: In order to plan and write your postcard, you will do all of the following:
1) Read the article about types of cloud and take dash notes.
2) Watch both of the videos about the water cycle on the resources page and take dash notes. You might want to use a graphic organizer as you take your notes. There are examples on the resources page.
3) Plan your postcard, pick the kind of cloud you are going to "visit", Organize your notes, and write your postcard on a separate piece of paper.
4) You will want to refer to your notes while writing your postcard. You can re-read your article and re-look at the videos as often as you need to.
